See, if I achieve something, and get praise, it's uncomfortable but I accept it. If I'm getting fawning praise devoid of any accomplishment or milestone, I assume someone's reaching for my wallet. Being praised for basic kindness by, say, my therapist will make me somewhat irritated.
Any and all praise makes me uncomfortable. (unless it's how delicious my food is).
