You would not. A 1200 dollar E bike will not be high end

$1,200 for a second hand high end ebike would be a great deal!

You can still (just about!) get a pleasantly rideable new ebike with a pronounceable name for about £1200 in the the UK, but yep, sometimes you just have to go with the Surly, surely? 😍

Damn, for 1200 euro I can get an excellent non electric bike here in France. Used quality electric can be found anywhere between 1000 to 2000 euros.

I just remind myself that the optimum number of bikes is n+1, where n=the number of bikes you already own. 😁

One of the drawbacks/disadvantages of buying a secondhand e-bike is you don't know how well the battery has been looked after by the previous owner, which is often 50% of the value of the bike, if you can even get one.
