I don't know shit about fuck about PLE ratings or buy rates (and I'm not watching meltzer talk about em) but like It seems erroneous to assume that any viewers WWE pulls are being taken directly from AEW? Like, I wouldn't consider it as AEW "taking a hit." Pls explain

It's basic math lol on a day where WWE and AEW are both running, wrestling fans can only be watching one or the other. There is no secret third option where they somehow watch both, or watch neither and go out to dinner with their family or something.

It's how it's being framed in what could possibly be a click-baity title of a video, but that's what I'm gathering.

I mean its the same night but…I’d be STUNNED if a single person who would have otherwise bought All Out decided not to just to watch Wrestlepalooza… This is just sad

I feel like the crossover between AEW and WWE fans is minimal at this point.

every aew fan i know dips in/out of wwe -- watches the royal rumble + wrasslemania -- without following it consistently. like, nobody i know who's seen last week's dynamite is also making time to watch the clash in paris today... a live wrestling show at noon is pretty appealing tho, so who knows.

what a lousy, flat name for a show tho -- the clash in paris. like, they employ writers. ~~fury de lis~~ there. first try.

I know people who tune into PLEs who aren't really wrestling fans simply because Netflix prompts them to & it's amusing background noise.

I respect it lol! Dunno if that'll be possible after the WWE jump to ESPN?

Honestly as fucking hopeless as Netflix's infrastructure is for WWE at least it's all in one place there & for a reasonable price. The situation in North America is such a shitshow. I don't know how any big fan is expected to really keep up with WWE here.

It's possible that people won't have time for both, and will pick one over the other. I believe it's why the NFL and broadcasters have spread out football games, they want people watching 3 games on Sundays, 1 on Mon, and 1 on Thur. And then the last few weeks, Staturday too.

Meltzer thinks ESPN will do an advertising barrage and that, together with the curiosity factor of it being the first PLE on ESPN will cause more casual fans to watch WWE's PLE. Alvarez disagrees and thinks AEW fans will buy ALL OUT, and watch WWE later on demand. The other factor is ESPN (1/2)

still isn't available on Xfinity, Cox and YouTube TV. That's 42 million subscribers being taken out of their universe that CAN order ALL OUT. A third factor is the potential debut of AEW PPVs on MAX, which would likely be available for a discount. (2/2)
