Thinking of my friend who's a Lana fan (left wing) and how one of the things they like about Lana's music is that it's often from the perspective of being *in* a bad/toxic relationship.

I am a Lana fan (left wing) and yes it's this. There's nostalgia, but a lot of it is undercut by a sense of fear and isolation and surreality. David Lynch and John Waters enjoyed her music for a reason. She does a similar complex dance with Americana.
