I see the Epstein thing causing a little bit more of a kerfuffle than the other scandals, but ultimately, this will blow over too Trump could rape a kid live of TV & his supporters would still be making excuses as to why it didn’t happen, it wasn’t that bad, or it was somehow Obama’s fault

It's just not his supporters, why is nothing being done about any of his crimes, or ignoring court orders? Everyday it's a new scandal but it's business as usual. Nothing seems to shock anymore

I like to believe the pendulum will swing back the other way (Germany is not after all, a Nazi country in 2025), but that process will be long & difficult I have to turn off from the news bc it’s literally too detrimental to my mental health. It crushes my soul to see such unchecked cruelty.

You hit the crux of it. We’ve had a lot of performative ‘action’ & a lot of talk, but Dems aren’t even doing the bare minimum to obstruct Trump’s agenda It’s bc so many Dems aren’t on the left, they’re center left at best & deep in the pockets of tech & other big business/donors

We have an oligarchy where the wealthy control the country & the false pretense that we have 2 political parties In reality, we have the appearance of 2 parties, while the reality is both Dems & the GOP work for their wealthy benefactors & not us ordinary citizens

There’s a duopoly but they’re not that close to each other. 1 is a cult driven by myth, delusion, ignorance, bigotry, grievance, self-entitlement, corporatism, greed. The other is self-entitlement, corporatism, status-quo comfort, and disconnection from the populous, but also some legit sincerity.

Same. This is one reason why I’ve spent two 24-hour periods this week doing nothing but writing fiction. Like solid 20+ hours of typing & living a fantasy in my head, twice this week. Some of the world I’m building is architected to avoid creating monsters out of people, because the real world sucks

Bc we are witnessing the culmination of 60+ years worth of the GOP all working towards basically this one goal The GOP made a conscious decision to move to the right in the 60s & they’ve stayed remarkably well organized & committed They now control all branches of govt & they packed the courts too
