Dude the Nazis were obsessed with the American West and frontiers and shit. They even adopted the ideas of “manifest destiny” and “reservations” for unwanted individuals while planning their invasion of the Soviet Union

You bring up such an excellent point, thank you! I also know about Spaghetti Westerns in Italy which was still reeling from earlier fascism. When I say I love Italian films, that isn't what I mean.

Actually, the majority of the Italian Western directors were openly left wing, and in about 95% of these films the bad guys turn out to be very white people of power and authority.

Another thing is that while I watch more serious and socially aware films called poliziotteschis, I don't watch all of them or exclusively. Film is usually an escape for me so I lean towards non-serious experimental art house, giallo and horror. I don't pretend to be a film scholar.

That's why I do not engage with Spaghetti Westerns any more than US Westerns, not sure what your point is. Fascism hit Italy in the 20s-40s, in the 60s it still polluted the culture on some level and Cosa Nostra in South Italy led to much more sophisticated films about social order.
