If Tyrell Shavers doesn't make the roster, I don't know what more he could have done. He wasn't noticeable before his injury. Since he's come back, he's made play after play. #Bills

They say that he needs to play special teams to make the roster. I’m not sure how true that is in the modern NFL, but it’s apparently still something that the coaches think about.

It's 100% true. Your fifth wide receiver is going to make a bigger impact on special teams than in the passing game.
