When I first moved to SF I lived right by an on-ramp and heard a few accidents and the jaws of life, it was terrible. 😢

The stress of hearing an accident in real time is not something I recommend. I even used to hear cops on their bullhorns "Pull to the right! Pull over!" West Oakland keeps it spicy!
