This is the first time I've heard about seasteading. I can guarantee you none of its proponents have experienced a hurricane much less can imagine an unimpeded hurricane at sea. No human construction could withstand it. They're drunk on Thiel and Yarvin crazy.

I hate defending seas steading even this tiny amount but most propose using ships or oil platforms (which are technically also ships) that can move out of the way of oncoming storms. Though oil rigs are also built to weather them and do.

The structures might weather them, but humans? Living in precarious conditions glued to weather reports (from where BTW?). Nope.

Oil rigs do survive storms, but aren't meant to support large numbers of people. And the idea of living on essentially a cruise ship is not the same as establishing "new geographic zones." In any case it's completely nuts. Maybe it's one of the attractions of Greenland for these pseudo geniuses.
