I don't agree. That suggests they don't believe in their rhetoric or that their goals are merely profit or power for its own sake.

I agree, but we're talking about the country at large in the long term. Whether what we have now is a sustainable dynamic is yet to be determined. I don't think so, but these people are a solid block right now. Anything feels possible.
