Him refusing a “handout” from the rich ex-partner he despised for “taking” his success and love interest, vs him living in a context where it was never needed in the first place are the same thing?
Huh wonder what he meant by “I liked it”
The character directly faces the camera and says he did all this evil because it made him feel good and we still have people being like “lol if universal healthcare was real the show wouldn’t happen”
But again, the inciting incident to unlocking that character arc was having a crisis that excused him taking those actions - in his mind. We of course see over time his pursuit of power and ego propelled his actions and he reveled in it. But would that have ever been unlocked without financial need?
