Local president here, we absolutely want universal health care. Not just for the greater good, but any funds allocated to healthcare now can be negotiated into wage or pension instead.

Good for you. What about working on Taft hartley so you can extend your offerings to those outside the union? You could grow your membership instantly by going to small to med bus and taking over their healthcare in exchange for collective bargaining their employees. Why not try to change TH

Taft Hartley should absolutely be abolished. Union membership shouldn't be limited, constrained, controlled, etc. And thank you, I love my job and my ability to help my community.
