The AUSA for Manhattan can’t charge just anyone for a crime committed somewhere. They can only charge for crimes committed in their district. Allegedly, all the p3d0 activity happened on Epstein’s plane or island - for exactly this reason. Maxwell’s procurement occurred in Manhattan. Hence, charged.
Well, then charge them with conspiracy to commit sexual assault, or somthing of the like. IANAL, but it seems like that happened within the jurisdiction.
Ethically, you can’t charge someone without sufficient evidence, which is especially difficult in conspiracy cases. Extra hard here bc Maxwell took all the blame & Epstein is dead. You know what they say: two can keep a secret only if one of them is dead. So died the evidence of conspiracy.
For the record, I would love for all of them to suffer greatly for what they did. But, as a former attorney, I know that’s much easier said than done.

For the record, I’m totally with you that they should all rot for what they did. But as a former lawyer, I know that that’s much easier said than done. What we “know” colloquially is not necessarily what can be proven in court. And what evidence exists & can be entered in court is tricky.
Jurisdiction over that is tricky. If you fly from the US, you’re IN the US until you land somewhere else. I would think that the district from which you fly has jurisdiction, but I’m not sure. But the island itself? Depends what country claims it as territory; I just don’t know who does. Manhattan
AUSA office is pretty liberal and they *may have referred to DC or other appropriate office, but they sat on it bc they’re loyalists. Time will tell if she speaks up.
