I just saw this for the first time last weekend and I was not ready for the captains monologue about the downed military vessel
Oh yeah, the INDIANAPOLIS. That's a chilling monologue, beautifully done
❤️
🥺🥺🥺
Right?
And the guy calling for his dog Pippit? 😢
It’s close to a perfect movie in many ways.
Truly.
And the actress was a local Martha’s Vineyard lady who acted in community theater. She was so good. Just recently passed away.
I did not know that! How cool!
I think everyone at the beach fire in the beginning was local. The guy playing the guitar - I met him back in the 90s when I was on the Vineyard. The Chief’s secretary Polly, the store owners, most of the folks in the beginning of the movie are all islanders :)
Oh yeah. Spielberg filled the movie with locals. Another brilliant move from the young genius.
