Can I ask why you think AP is a scam? (Asking, not starting a war lol)

AP is just a big old test prep course. Students don't have to demonstrate any actual learning or mastery, they just need to pass a test. Dual Credit on the other hand works like a real course where a student is graded based on the corpus of their work.

Oh and College Board has no obligation to make any accomodations for diverse learners.

And the mental stress of AP is incompatible with the idea that schools care about students' mental health.

Because it all boils down to one test, not a body of work across a course. And there is no guarantee that a college will accept a test score. And teachers are locked into a curriculum someone else chooses. Oh and College Board sells your kid's data.

I learn something new all the time. Thanks for sharing your input. Im a single mom now and she is my only child, so Im new to all of this. She actually knows a hell of a lot more about AP classes than I do, unfortunately. I will look into it. Thanks!

Happy to help. I spent too much time working in 9-12 and seeing kids get burnt out by too much AP or telling me after graduation they felt like it was a waste of their time. Unfortunately, there are too many administrators out there who love to push AP because it makes their schools look "great."
