Not quite. From your source, it is only "recommending" the shot for those over age 65 and the vulnerable. You should not be risking the shot if you're healthy under 65. They are saying you can get it if you want, but not recommending it.

I stopped in at the pharmacy where I've been getting vaccinated. I've gotten #Covid shots there almost since the day they became available for my age group. Today for the first time, they didn't have any. They said #flu should be available next week and Covid might be available and to check back.

Placebo controlled trials for a vaccine against a virus that can cause death or severe health impairment is patently unethical. What IRB would approve this? New cancer trmts are compared against the standard of care, not a placebo. Evaluate vaccines for safety & efficacy (accomplished for Covid)

You realise that in a placebo control trial, you may or may not receive the vaccine? The point is to randomise the groups so you remove as much variability as possible.

Yes, true, the recruiters will know who never had the shot, but the people doing the recruiting do not tell the people doing the study who they are. That's how you do it for a placebo controlled trial.

I really don't think you understand. In a placebo trial, the participant will receive either a placebo or a treatment, unknown to them. The point is to control for the effects of the participant being in the study. You cannot say yoh will never receive the vaccine and then enter the trial.

In a randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled trial, *no one* knows who got what. Everything is coded. When the trial is completed, it is analyzed. Occasionally, an interim analysis will show a clear treatment effect and end early, because to deny life-saving treatment is unethical.
