Summer reading challenge has ended. Kiddos beat the adults 34-32 and get a shopping spree at their favorite store. Due to a miscommunication, that shopping spree will run 50% than expected, but if it gets 'em reading I'll gladly pay the difference.

One of our kids has no problem but struggles with summarizing the important bits. Another will do anything BUT pick up a book. So we gave stickers for both finishing books and writing reviews, and counted both stickers against my wife and my finish a book stickers. So we stacked the deck a little.
Lot of books! Did the adults read novels? Because that’s a ton of reading…
My final count was 14, which was probably 7 comics (two of them large absolutes, the rest trades) , an audibook, and 6 novels. My wife was I think all novels except one novella. She's a machine!
That’s great. On two different occasions I’ve tried to read a hundred books in a year but haven’t made it. Got 90+ both times but was so sick of reading
My wife's done it a few times. I think my all time high as an adult is around 85, and probably 20 of those were comics.
I love this! When my kids are a little older I am sooo using it. Thank you for sharing!
If we do it again, I'll add a rule that every 250 pages in a single book is a sticker too. A couple times someone said "Woah, that's a long book, it should count extra!" but we didn't formalize it, which incentivized reading short books (still a win!)
