A couple of things that might help clarify: 1) Wal-Mart is really more of an all-purpose store. You can buy clothing, food, electronics, furniture, bicycles...and weapons. 2) A small, weird handful of Americans are really serious about their need to have a really large number of guns.

Just 3% of the population owns half of the privately owned guns. 3) Wal-Mart is notorious for being a ethics-free money-grubbing company that will do most anything to make a buck, and there aren't any laws that will stop them from doing this crap.

Either that 3% is doing a shit-load of shooting of people, or they're 3% of the problem. Sounds like they're 3% of the problem.

I have no clue what percentage of shootings come from that 3%.

Me neither, but I deeply doubt it's much more than 3%.

You can only hold 2 guns at once so I guess that they could only be responsible for 6% at most.

Though around 25% fetishize and fantasize about it. Personally when I think of "home defense" I'm not thinking about reenacting the Gunfight at the OK Corral in my living room.
