I too came to education late due to dyslexia but always had a love of learning. My degree is in history and US historians are respected but the Trump situation I fear for their futures

I'm dyslexic. As you know it's much more complex than the movie version of seeing things backwards, although that may be one symptom of dyslexia. And it's unique to each of us.
On one of these replies I commented I’d had 50 jobs & got a rude response it was nothing to be proud of. Surmise the recipient was small minded. Not quite 50 & I started when I was 11 and am now in my mid 70s, I count voluntary jobs as well. Most stimulating life experience ever. Life’s strange 🤣
"Remember, when you do anything, someone will find fault, no matter what you do." Joyce Hifler in "The Cherokee Feast of Days."
I had a number of job changes within my career at Phillips Petroleum Company. I've had three full time jobs since Phillips left me.
I think just because I’m dyslexic I have this real desire to write down an account of what it was like as a neurodiverse person in the job market during these past decades. It would count as primary history as well but you know when you’re retired time management a problem slip
Write 1 page a day. Write ½ page if that's what you feel is enough.
Good tip. Thank you. I’ll try
Hemingway said, "Write as well as you can and finish what you start." He also said, "Ass in chair."
One of the things I wrote yesterday. "The truth is steady like the rock of Gibraltar. Lies are like a ship at sea, rolling with the wind and waves until the truth overturns the lies. Truth always wins out over lies because truth is justice. Justice takes time."
Very fine words. I’ll hold onto that. Yes truth must win. I fear for justice in the US as money seems to speak so forcefully. I am minded of the worrying observation of a Holocaust survivor. 10% of people are good and cannot be dissuaded. 10% evil & likewise. 80% can be persuaded either way.
I recommend reading "Night," by Elie Wiesel. It's powerful.
Will do, if I can find it. Shame we can’t do a booking in Blue Sky
I'm a writer. I got rid of my television system to have more time to write.
Admirable!
