I worked on a dairy in the summers, my grandfather’s collective of farmers. My parents raised me in a city center. I’ve seen both worlds. I’ve seen cruelty in both the country and the city. The cruelty is based off of not knowing the other, and expecting the worst. Both brainwashed by propaganda.

I've spent most of my life touring and especially playing rural areas. The level of relief I had pulling into big cities is real.

I live in upstate NY. The rural spots here are red neck shitholes. Broken down trailers with shit scattered all over the lawns, shitty rusted out pickup trucks and MAGA flags. I feel like there are a lot of places here that would be better off being leveled and turned into parking lots.

This. I've been threatened, assaulted, and feared for my life several times...in Idaho. Then I drive back to my city that has some issues like anywhere but I feel safe at night on the street.

I live in a rural town in KS. You could not pay me to walk around after dark. We had new people move into the house next to us & I don't even feel safe going into my own damn yard after dark now. Which really sucks because I bought a new telescope.
