I know why. Because you give fealty to these monsters with your vote. They know, or thought they knew, that they could shoot a hundred thousand kids in the face in the middle of Gaza, and you'd still vote for them. Sadly, this miscalculation will cost many, many lives more than just in Gaza.

Usually, I'd agree with this but the situation in November was unique: a) the other candidate was somehow even worse on this, and b) the other candidate was an authoritarian and so people might not get a future vote re Gaza or anything else.

Then frankly you have no argument against people who couldn’t vote for this

Well, I do - it's still a 'lesser of two evils' situation. Jill Stein is a hideous human being so there was no reasonable 3rd option. It was a very bad set of options, but there was still a choice available which didn't end up with a dictator in charge.

The choices were: A) Likely more destruction, with at least a possibility of the Democrats making a minimal effort to pressure Netanyahu (there was some talk about this from the Harris campaign). B) The complete removal of the Palestinians. It was a pretty terrible choice, I grant you.

"Minimal effort?" Do you call standing ovations and cuddles for war criminals "effort?" I call it capitulation or collaboration.

No - the minimal effort was criticising some actions of the Israeli government, which Harris did. This is (obviously) nowhere near enough, but that's the state of US politics.

"Hi there! I'm handing knives to a serial killer who's using them to actively stab thousands of innocent kids. I'm making an effort to convince him that stabbing is bad with each knife I hand him. It's minimal effort, but it's better than me just handing him knives without giving him a finger wag."

Yeah, I'm not saying it's good. But Harris not being elected meant that Trump was elected, which is worse for the Palestinians. It's also much, much worse for Ukraine, which curiously many of the foremost 'Don't vote for Harris, she's pro-genocide' crowd don't seem to care about.

The state of politics is due to the imperial capitalist monoparty. Supporting one side of the monoparty means nothing will get better ever. Even if you voted for them just for harm reduction, you'd come out of the booth cursing the, not making excuse for them for months
