unfortunately because a lot of centrists like yglesias or even newsome just are themselves casually transphobic/apathetic at best. they dont want people to remember that transphobia was a losing issue for the GOP through the 2022 midterms and all thats changed is the dem level of cowardice on it
At some point I genuinely think a lot of the Yglesias types are, whether they know it or not, poison. Gotta cut that out sooner or later.
oh 100%. i think the "reactionary centrist" takeover of the party has been devastating not just to the dems but the country and world at large. it is maybe the worst possible political framework to take up in opposition to creeping fascism, as all of its weaknesses are things fascism exploits
