crazy that i grew up having people tell me "you'll get more conservative as you get older, you'll see" and instead i'm like one post away from an fbi visit every day

I've definitely doubled down on my left wing ideology. I'm 45 now. Not seeing myself change any time soon.
right like idk man when i was a kid i was taught to treat others the way i'd want to be treated and it stuck idk what you want from me
I considered myself a pretty "mellow" progressive less than 10 years ago, and everything that's transpired during and after the pandemic has radicalized me so freakin' much.

One of the coolest and most comforting things of my adult life is watching my dad (who was fiscally liberal and socially conservative growing up) move increasingly to the left as he’s aged. To the point I’ll hear him stick up for LGBTQ+ issues, which would have been unthinkable to me as a kid.
My mother also went this way. From growing up in a "Fox News Always On" Household, when I was in my early 20s we had a serious heart to heart about me about my being trans after initially kind of ignoring it. One of the most positive experiences in my life and I really treasure our relationship.
I am so happy about that for you. That’s really wonderful to hear.
Wait, you got the King of the Hill experience? I'm jealous.
My mom also went from largely apolitical to “staunch liberal” so they’re both pretty cool, not gonna lie.
I will never vote Republican in my entire life.
Yup
I’m convinced that was denial as a form of self preservation because they dare not face the reality that it’s not an in viability and they just sold their ideals down the river.
yeah like a "please i pray it's not just me" kinda shame
