In 2005, the homicide rate in Minneapolis was 12.5 per 100,000 residents. In 2024, it’s 10 per 100,000. Even though crime has been worse in Minneapolis lately (contrary to the broader national trend) it’s still better than the 2000s.

The term "Murderapolis" emerged as a result of a period of heightened violence in Minneapolis during the 1990s, with the nickname highlighting the city's struggle with rising murder rates. For example, in 1996, the city saw a notable increase in homicides, leading to the creation of the nickname.
I believe it would’ve been ‘96 then when we had the highest homicide rate in the country Love the banner photo, btw!
took the words out of my mouth
This is news to my family and I, we use Minneapolis Public parks everyday.
Guess he was still in diapers in the 80s….. “In summary, while there have been some recent upticks in certain types of crime, overall crime rates in the US are significantly lower now than they were in the 1980s.”
He sounds like the fucking boomers from the outter 'burbs. He doesn't know Minneapolis, he's barely been to Minneapolis and he sure as fuck doesn't live there. Fuck off back to the Reichstad, Miller.
Public parks in LA used to be full of members of the community joyfully spending time with their families. Now they are empty because of PeeWee Germans terrorist squads.
Steven you are a liar!! The public parks are safe. We use them all the time!!! So does everyone else!!
My kids keep telling me that Seattle is dangerous and I am like "I can walk around downtown late at night by myself and not worry about being mugged. I could not do that in the 90's. No one could do that in the 90,s"
I’m 60 and walk the downtown Seattle streets all times of day and night. The biggest threat is tech-bros riding their scooters on the sidewalk.
Ditto for San Francisco
Never been menaced or struck by the homeless. I have been struck by scooters and am menaced by them daily
This is a true fact about the DMV. Goddamn lime scooters.
Don't forget the people throwing fish.
Seattle folk know how to dodge flying salmon. 🙂
Seriously. Reminds me when I moved to Calgary in 2016 and people were saying that I was living in a rough area. I grew up in Oakland in the 90s. By comparison, any American city looks fine today.
back in the 90s there were so many muggings we all had to become muggers too, it was the only way to arrive home with a wallet. After enough muggings, sometimes you'd end up back with your original wallet.
Sorry but I wandered around at night all the time in the 90s. Yes, crime was worse, mostly in the sense that having an expensive car stereo was pointless Clubs and bars, you know, existed, right? If nobody could walk around, nobody was going out at night at all. In the Pentium I era? They went out
Your kids are... well, I worry about your children now.
There are parts of Minneapolis I won’t go, but the flooding of Republican guns (ie guns anywhere and everywhere) has created an atmosphere where arguments want to be resolved with guns. But in general, Minneapolis is a safe city and I’m often downtown and use the parks.
Fuck this gaslighting Nazi.
I'm assuming his lies are a prelude to sending ICE in to terrorize Minneapolis citizens again.
We’re ready Bring it, motherfuckers
How exactly does one “take our jobs” and “live on free welfare” at the same time?
What does he even actually know about it? He just spews.
Has that bag of gas ever even been to Minneapolis?
In the 90s, the city had the nickname “Murderapolis” www.nytimes.com/1996/06/30/u....
Miller is a Nazi liar.
Worth noting too that Saint Paul, which became a minority-majority city during the past 20 years, has seen homicide rates fall and currently sit below the national average for major cities:

You know which kids work harder than most American kids? The immigrants. And they end up fluent in at least two languages.
He's such a liar.
Neck twitches increase as he increases his lies.
They lie to suit their lie. #PretzelLogic
Who is the quoted post from?
Precisely.
🤡
I find this interesting because I'm seeing that crime is down but homicides are up since the 2000s
Crime is going to go up everywhere because of this regime.
It's not the migrants causing most of this anyway.

In 1995, it was 26 per 100k. The memory hole is breathtaking.
he's pissed he can't hang around the park bathrooms unobserved any more, particularly since elon cucked his bald ass...
When did “the era of open borders” start, the 80s? Clinton? Probably Obama, right
I live in the Twin Cities; Miller is full of shit.
