However, I would say this… it’s not how he campaigned. He may well be playing chess, but it would’ve been an easier pill to swallow after Trump saying Canada does whatever we tell them to do, if in fact he’d campaigned on making concessions where he deemed necessary. Feels like bait & switch.
Liberal partisans will excuse, rationalize, and justify *anything* Carney does. That's now very clear. The rest of us without melted brains need to keep pushing for transparency, accountability, and good policy.
He campaigned on protecting Canadian sovereignty and exploring all avenues in getting the best deals for Canada, both with the U.S and through expanded trade with other partners throughout the world.
And elbows up, standing up to Trump & not placating. So far we’ve done “what they tell us to do” in terms of the bogus border/fentanyl issue, the DST & now tariffs. I was singing his praises too, but there are reasons to be disappointed. If you’re not, cool - that’s your choice. Have a nice day.
