Because that's the wrong mindset. As the saying goes, two wrongs don't make a right. The problem is Dems were cowards and never set example by prosecuting and punishing Reps and Dems who broke the rules and as a society, we accepted half assed apologies while allowing them to continue to serve

What should Dems do when DeSantis ignores his own State Constitution and his own State Courts telling him his gerrymanders are illegal and he just does it anyway? Dems tried the Roberts Supreme Court who said US Constitution does not actually protect our individual right to vote!! Seriously?

It gets muddy because we do have state rights and each state has its own cultures and constitutions. So we run into an issue of even if 49 states hate what one is doing, unless the citizens of that 50th say enough is enough, nothing is gonna happen.

My point is simply that when Red states repeatedly ignore their own state laws and Courts, I don't understand why Blue states don't play the same game. I am sick of hearing all the reasons Dem governors "can't" uber-gerrymander because of the states' laws. Why are only Dems held to that standard?

That breaks down to a social problem. The US constitution gives citizens the right to abolish or alter the government should it attack their rights so it's on technically the citizens. Problem is theres no unified message in the US as to what those are and there never has been.
