Turkey is the second largest military in NATO. Turkey has been sending military aid to Ukraine since very early on. Turkey isn't scared of russia. Turkey is on the opposite coast of the Back Sea to russia & Ukraine. Turkey effectively kicked russia out of Syria.

Also, Erdogan knows how to deal with Putin. He won't take any BS from the little FSB troll. Now, I'm not a supporter of Erdogan, but on this issue, he's actually been pretty solid since the start, and regarding russia in general.

Correct in all of that, but in the same way Trump is said to have believed Hitler was Australian and expected to have seen a Kangaroo with him in a picture, only to be told he was from Austria and not Germany, he could well believe that Turkey is only relevant at Thanksgiving.
