Wow. I never understood how mediocre (or worse) concert halls can be built. Just model it after the Musikverein or the Concertgebouw and be done with it. I must be missing something.

Echoing would be pretty sloppy. For sure. The Oregon Symphony plays in Schnitzer Concert Hall and itβs pretty bad. Itβs a converted old school movie theater.

They were warned during the construction by sound engineers (some of whom I knew and worked with). Concerts sounded good during broadcast because we could manipulate the sound.

The echo issue in some seats, dry spots in others. It went through a complete rebuild but I was already gone by then from Toronto.
