The feminine urge to be useful and fulfill the needs of society. I wish I could have been the kind of primadonna who thought she could get away with studying history or art instead of always computer.

They do like to make academia sound like being sent to the Colosseum to face the lions. It is always publish _and_ perish in the end anyway. Though I guess if you publish something important enough they will give you immortality in statue or a hall or something.
