Kind of you to say, and I share your sentiments. It has happened so slowly that it took a clean break for me to really see what has happened. It's wild. Social media and streaming series own the space that movies occupied for a century.

There aren't any great voices anymore, no critics that demand my attention or new movies that I get excited about. Written film criticism has been replaced by podcasts and YouTube videos and when I check to see what's playing in theaters, I say to myself, "I don't want to see any of this shit."
Same. I've seen five movies in theaters this year, and it's almost August. That'll change a little in the fall...but not that much.
It's sad! Thankfully, there is over a century of filmmaking preceding the modern demise for me to continue enjoying. And, let's not forget about baseball!
