They're not fines, they're incomplete charges. Theyy don't always refund without a complaint. Stations with pink, yellow, Overground, Tram together like Wimbledon or Mitcham Junction you can rack up multiple incomplete journeys and the system only auto repays the last one, not the six outstanding.
