Such a contrived measurement, too. Take two equal sized groups, all of which are either 9.0 or 2.2 and you'll end up with that same average 5.6 score despite nobody sitting there. Lies, damn lies and statistics...

People half-reading posts that they’re barely literate enough to understand, just to use it to lash out at internet strangers for clout??? Who would do that? /s

I’ve been teaching college students for 20 years. They often do just that: read people as saying the opposite of what they said.

For some reason, a lot of people assume that each skeet is written in a scathing, sarcastic tone and they instantly go on the offense.

Your post is on the influence of “authenticity” while his is on the influence of “perception.” Both posts on the surface concern “moderation” as a factor. Yours suggests the quality of individual presentation is critical while his implies external branding is key. You are both right.

I'm always concerned about the same. When emotions are high, so is the potential for misunderstandings.

Consider that most people read in order to find support for their pre-existing conditions and this will make more sense

The fact that you want him to make a coherent point just shows what a ideological person you are. He's skillfully navigating between two opposite ways of thinking by saying nothing of value or substance.

I think you were saying that choosing weathervanes as candidates puts people off, because they detect and dislike the shallowness. Mr Other Guy is waving a contrived trash poll pushing dems to become thugs, so that thugs have someone other than shitler to support.

I once produced a PowerPoint deck and for reasons I can't remember a colleague presented it. I was horrified to hear him convey the exact opposite of what I intended. That was a great lesson, it's stuck with me decades later.

That means you made the powerpoint in the right way - visual points for verbal expounding, rather than a script for the speaker.

In this post, along with some perceived context from others, I read that the Dem problem is they are chasing discourse as if that just exists independently from them. While the GOP is creating the discourse they want to exist. That chasing falls flat with voters then. bsky.app/profile/jame...
