there’s an old timer here singing uptown funk and he fucking rules
there’s an old timer here singing uptown funk and he fucking rules
Caves of Altamira is the best SD karaoke song
I’d follow with Uptown Girl
Fabulous song!
dudes rock
Old timers and uptown funk www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1F0... Honestly it's my favorite way to listen to the song since it appeared.
alright i did one of the few songs i can legitimately sing, which is let’s dance
...jamelle bowie.
Came here for this, now I'm gonna dance the blues
Bowie!!!
Maneater by Hall and Oates
Go Bowie! Great tune.
This sounds like my … erm … age of karaoke.
That’s one of my favorite Steely Dan songs.
David Bowie?
Dirty Work is their best song imo.
Is fire in the hole not universally beloved
SRV baby
I'm terrible at karaoke *except* when I do Alanis Morissette's Hand in Pocket!
Anything by Bill Withers. He’s my karaoke go-to. 🤓
Would you hold the note on Lovely Day?
You have to. 🤓
Love to do Bowie at karaoke. Not too much range required, the songs stand the test of time.
The perfect song
okay this old timer is back up singing hemorrhage with some real church soul energy and it is sick
the Fuel hit? ♫ in my hands, in my hands again ♫
freak out the Epstein/T nexus: “Hey 19”
please post it! 🎶
I would fail in my obligations as a follower and karaoke lover if I didn't mention that Rock Lobster by the B52s is the best, most fun you can have on stage. The call and response when you get to the animal noises is unmatched.
when i’m just trying to PERFORM i do “my sacrifice”
I did "it's oh so quiet" last year and, to my surprise & delight, the crowd ACTUALLY WENT QUIET when I shushed them in the 2nd line. Now I'm laughing/explaining "no, go back to your conversations the shushing is part of it!" but can't lie...the power was exhilarating
Aerosmith - I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing is for performing when I'm done for the night and am ready to blow out my vocal cords.
wait, the Creed one?
My go-to is always Take On Me, by A-ha
We need a stream of this Jamelle.
The energy inside a karaoke room can never be captured on a stream.
Of more modern hits “Ain’t it Fun” and “All These Things That I’ve Done” kill.
Thought that was Bowie.
I’ve never wanted to see anything as badly as I want to see this thing we’ll never see
Once upon a time I could sing “Crazy” a la Patsy Kline.
I still can!
Ha! I do "Walkin' After Midnight" 😎
My go to is "My girl". I got sunshine, on a cloudy day. When it's cold outside, I've got the month of May. I guess, you'd say, what can make me feel this way? Midol. Midol. Midol. Talkin' 'bout Midol, or Pamprin!
You could do ‘IGY’, just to be ‘Steely Dan’ adjacent…and be cool as fuck…
oooooof, all of the so-deadpan-it's-sarcastic atomic age nostalgia hit rough in the 90s and even rougher now... but I suppose we should have been expecting the cyberpunk dystopia
Bowie is deceptively difficult to approximate vocally. I recall Suffragette City during a Rock Band night being a particularly tricky challenge.
Fagen and Bowie are traps for the unwary at karaoke, IMO. They both have pretty limited octave ranges, so you _think_ it must be simple to imitate them, but lolllll it is not.
Always a good fallback!
Bouie sings Bowie?
Dirty work
Boz Scaggs "We're all alone"
take on me by AHA obviously or my favorite Pat Benetar Love is a Battlefield
Bouie karaoke night is something I didn't know I needed in my life but I love it. Psycho Killer was always a crowd favorite at my grad school house parties.
Put on your red shoes and dance the blues.
Consider: “crazy little thing called love”
Sly is great for Karaoke. Funky and fun, but, not a precise technical singer.
Once at a Yale grad bar function i did A boy named sue Like a prayer Bohemian rhapsody I may have been in my cups
Learned that on a Viking river cruise nearly ten years ago: the olds fucking love Uptown Funk
Damn i love karaoke so much. Srsly folks, if existential dread/ennui is getting you down, I highly recommend: 1) go SOLO to a local karaoke bar (no private rooms!!) 2) submit at least one song 3) STAY until you've sung at least one song a low-stakes thrill that usually exceeds expectations
Try Ladies Night by Kool and the Gang
One time, I saw a guy who was the living embodiment of Colin Robinson do an absolutely pitch-perfect version of Temperature by Sean Paul. I still haven’t recovered.
Boomers go hard?
That’s because Boomers created great music.
Best karaoke moment I ever saw was a white man in his 70s doing Low by Flo Rida and absolutely nailing it
I'd go with Dirty Work. Less known, great song.
