this guy is truly a worm man www.city-journal.org/article/dona...
How else can D-level worms find employment in this lawless administration without signal loudly how much they belong?
I think they meant "Rejected"
www.youtube.com/watch?v=Afet...
I feel dirty for having clicked the link.
Pedofuhrer
That is a laughable statement 🤨
gee I wonder why a lot more injunctions get issued under the demented wannabe dictator than the regular centrist president who can know who can tell
He wants a SC appointment
I honestly expected it to be Josh Barro when I clicked through.
That's an awful lot of words Wurm used just to let us know that he's, at best, a Quisling.
And here I thought City Journal was just Chris Rufo! He has a whole compost heap of worm men!
Wormpersons?
I got about a paragraph into that article and then wondered: *How can anyone tell me things that are so preposterously bogus with a straight face?*
I hope you're talking about the author of that POS article. He's a dangerous propagandist who is almost certainly indoctrinating law students to believe in the legal bullshit he spews.
Federalist Society tool...what do you expect
Looked at who wrote it and you’re right.
Slightly grumpy I had to click through to those dweebs to get the joke.
Now now let’s have civility in academic discussions
lol
Can someone please just give him the judicial appointment he's so desperately seeking? Tired of watching this dude publicly debase himself.
I’m not, and I just got here
No. bsky.app/profile/resn...
This reads like they are angling for a position in the Fascist Regime.
This article is like a kid flunking out of school and the blaming the Principal by claiming most kids graduate.
All I can think of right now is Sam Jackson’s “who the hell is this asshole” line from Coming to America.
Hey! Not fair!
A man made of worms
My favorite is Vermeule, whose name always makes me think of a crying worm.
He can do what he wants. Supreme Court says. He could even hire Seal Team Six to assassinate political rivals. That specifically was mentioned in trial arguments. I’ll say it again. He can do what he wants.
I really wasn’t sure if this was some weird parody and that was some pithy pseudonym or what, but knowing this is a real article someone wrote is mind blowing.
Trump is famously respectful of people who try to find him accountable in any way. This article sounds like it was written by a child. Maybe Don Junior, if he had some help.
Parody is dead
it's not that this president is uniquely lawless, it's that the district courts are out of control
absolutely wild that fewer injunctions is taken to mean the judiciary is being more civil and not the president has committed fewer crimes
Exactly this is such a BS argument. Family separation, Muslim ban, building the wall on endangered habits, selling off of national parks... etc. Trump is unlawful and needed a Judiciary to act.
“All of a sudden, Johnny ‘Firebug’ Torchman comes to town, and arson arrests go up 300%. Does that seem fair?”
The first half of the paragraph is meaningless as well. The Biden presidency was a "return to normalcy" because the number of injunctions dropped from 16/year to 14/year?
Ah, I'm misreading this - it (probably?) means from 2021 through 2023. Choice of end date aside, you would expect a president interested in crashing every system and out-and-out violating the 14th amendment to get enjoined!
"oh damn Ilan, that's crazy. were the injunctions like, about anything?"
Hard to believe that a human would write that. Probably entirely done by Grok
[donald trump issues illegal orders and openly violates the constitution, and encourages his subordinates to defy court orders] ilan wurman: "looks like nothing to me" [a district court says, you can't do this] wurman: "this is judicial power run amok"
He wants that Jonathan Turley juice
Ilan wurman doesn't think the courts have any rights the president is bound to respect. To coin a phrase.
Doesn’t think the *people* have any rights the president is bound to respect.
I called him and told him an asshole was publishing under his name and he hung up on me :(
“Let’s go to the numbers” is always a great call when it comes to COURT DECISIONS.
"We'd better stop him!" "We can't!" "Why not?" "Because it would tear the country apart!" --Jules Feiffer
it's only judicial activism when i don't like the ruling!
he’s totally fucked up, who is this idiot?
Idk how you can be arguing that Trump is proposing a legal theory so novel you have to invent a new theory of constitutional law to defend it (birthright) and also it's crazy that judges have questions about any of this
It’s the next sentence for me. Crucial empirical statement about THE key issue of the paper followed by no evidence and a pivot to other topics. Gosh. Ilan, man, what are you doing.
Trying to pivot to a new career in the judiciary
That is soon-to-be Judge Ilan to you, sir. 😉
Here’s my favorite. The president can’t defy a court order but Trump might just be “forced” to because they’re trying to stop his fascistic policies.
Well, this clears up a mystery.
Auditioning for a position on TV or in the administration, most likely. After all, the other option is that he was genuinely born yesterday.
Both, plus he undoubtedly wants a lifetime appointment, which could very well happen, unfortunately, given how bad he is at practicing law.
Serious question: Do you mean his appointment would be unfortunate because of how bad he is at practicing law or that his appointment is likely because of how bad he is at practicing law??
My thoughts accidently ran together, but on review.. both.
It's incredibly likely both are true!
I think Worm Man might be in big trouble with his own side. Did you notice he said ... DemocratIC? That's a violation of the 0th commandment for anyone on the right.
The problem is NOT with the judiciary as a whole, but SCOTUS (and the 5th circuit, but with 13 circuits, it's not surprising that one of them will be butterscotch).
I'd love for him to go one-by-one on these and explain which cases he thinks are overreach and why. But that would involve doing actual work.
Got that right
The author presumably thinks that courts were biased against Ted Kaczynski. Only way to explain all those charges against him.
Could there be any other explanation?
it'd be nice if these shits would wear uniforms — and a few more dementia dances down the road & i expect they will — but you don't really need to see a uniform to know who they play for.
Nobody cups balls like the GOP cups trumps balls
He looks even worse than usual, really looking old and like he’s been pissed off every day of his life, along with just being extremely ugly in general. One foot in the grave? We can only hope!
I realize this post is about the journalist but just commenting on the picture. And sending certain thoughts to the universe!
City Journal make Sean Hannity look like Bill Moyers.
This dude should be in porn with that level of dick sucking ability
At first glance, this appears to be a fluff piece in honor of the illegal president in a blatantly trashy rag. I don’t spend my valuable time or energy on trash. I’ll take your word for it, Jamelle. I trust you.
Maybe RFK shared his brain worm with Ilan.
Is this from an alternate universe?
@nytpitchbot.bsky.social you’ve been scooped.
Trump has respected the judicial branch the way he respects his one night stands.
Replaces judicial with boot licking toadies…hey look at me respecting the judicial over here!
Ah yeah, the guy desperately trying to find rationale for removing birth right citizenship. What a c**t.
Ew, I thought I recognized the name.
This goes beyond being a fluff piece. This guy swallows.
Folks: it’s ok to believe our own eyes and ears regardless
“Wurman. Wooooooooooorm man.”
How can an actual lawyer be so dense?
So uh, do any of the Esteemed Legal Intelligentsia that insisted we take this guy seriously as a deep-thinking scholar writing in good faith want to maybe come forward and say “I was wrong” at this moment?
Pretty obvious for critical thinkers to understand why Trump has more legal injunctions than Biden….Trump is a crook. Someone should telll worm man sycophancy is a sign of mental illness.
And they get a tax break for this crap! 🤬🤬🤬
wish he’d worm less
What a fucking scum bag
Creepy Crawler
Um what? This person cannot be for real
Will Trump pardon Maxwell for her silence?
Can’t spell Ilan Wurman without “Ruin Lawman”
City Journal is Rufo's rag. Preaching to the audience of the converted.
What a crock of excrement & he's a professor??
Is this The Onion?
Looking at guy who popularized the idea of the judicial activist voice: wow this guy really seems to revere the profession
Which conservative think tank bankrolls him? I can’t keep track of
I think flat worms have more integrity and virtue.
There are honest and thoughtful conservative scholars I will debate when Fed Soc students invite me to, and then there are those who I won’t. He’s in the latter category.
From the author's bio "He also devised winning public nuisance theories to force city governments to address the increasingly challenging public camping crises throughout the country." Gotta love how inequality leading to widespread human misery is reframed as a problem with public camping.
Camping is recreational. Leisure. Fun. Sounds like Wurman wants his readers to believe homelessness is a choice. That the crisis isn't the misery and its causes, rather the permissiveness that allows other peoples' fun to become a blight on the landscape.
Camping in public? Is he talking about HOMELESS people?
Yes, but he'll snottily tell you that lefties are saying "unhoused" when instead they should be saying "bums"
That’s a vigorous level of bootlicking this guy is engaging in. Almost impressive from that angle.
Why is it when I saw City Journal, I thought it would be another Rufo hot (shit) take?
Please don’t call him a man. ‘Worm’ is sufficient.
😳🥱
"A Taco Shy of a Combination Plate: The Collected Writings of Ilan Wurman."
Has this writer been paying attention to ANYTHING that has been happening the last 6 mos?
How many court orders did he defy?
Federalist society drinking game participants, drink a shot now!
That’s an odd way to characterize the guy who sends Vance out to threaten judges
Is this... satire?
Classic case of “Trump gets so many judicial injunctions, why?” while brushing aside what Trump might be doing to earn those injunctions.
"Why are people charging Crime Man with so many crimes? It seems suspicious."
He also helpfully mentions that Obama and Biden received most or all of their injunctions from Republican appointees, then just doesn’t bother saying whether Trump’s injunctions have a partisan bias. Who’s writing those injunctions? Could it be the very same Republican judges?
Isn’t it worth mentioning that Obama and Biden seemed to suffer from partisan courts, while Trump has received bipartisan rejection from the courts? Is that not interesting enough to talk about?
The courts have granted far too much leniency for the Executive branch. Further, the unprofessionalism practiced by the current Trump attorneys should not be treated as acceptable conduct.
Let's take this for what it is: an audition for Tully Bailey to be Trump's next law firm.
This shit stain is also proud of his work making homelessness illegal. www.city-journal.org/article/a-le...
behind every great man is a great worm man
I like how their definition of respecting the courts is the thing that Trump doesn’t do
Yet he's ALWAYS disrespected court orders!
I am starting to think that our public universities are simply crawling with professors appointed solely for their conservative ideological purity
How do these people do it? Writing this shit would eat me up inside, if I posted it even under a pseudonym, I'd have to go into hiding out of embarrassment.
