even if there is not going to be an amendment anytime soon i think it is still useful to encourage people to think a little more deeply about structural change to the american system. politics happens through deliberation and discussion.

I would like big, structural changes. I do not think that this is the way, because it takes too much of the structure for granted and proposes something that will not be particularly effective yet will require a ton of political resources.

I would also contend that a series of amendments is the only path forward if we wish to preserve American democracy in the long term.
