Whoa-a-a. Great shot, Jamelle! I love its little iridescent green jaws. I wanted to call them mandibles, but apparently those green bits in particular are "chelicerae". In looking up the mouthparts I learned that your housemate is Phidippus audax, the bold jumping spider!
Adorable. Spiders usually freak me out, but it's a specific body shape that does it, ones with the bloated abdomens hanging on a silk thread. This one is more like a fuzzy teddy bear.
ICE agent?
Cute!
the fit tho
What an adorable little gentleman.
Those little jumpy ones.
Were you invited into the parlor?
Did you leave a fly or something for it?
That is an amazing photo. Kudos. Love me a jumping spider.
Why do the furry spiders scare me so much more than the other ones 😂
Can haz tasty insect?
When do you move house?
The realest question.
I’m so sorry you have to burn your whole house down now.
incredible photo Jamelle!
Jumping spiders are my favorite spiders. The list is not long.
Hello spider friend!
Jumping spiders are the best spiders
What type of spider?
When I was a kid I was terrified of spiders Now I carefully go around them if one shows up on the floor in my house
Hairy little dude.
Great shot. There’s a whole subreddit devoted to this kind of spider— seems like many people keep them as pets: www.reddit.com/r/jumpingspi...
Whoa, I didn't know they made jumping spiders this big. All the ones around here are tiny little guys.
here are the settings for anyone who cares. 45mm on micro four-thirds is equivalent to 90mm full frame, fyi.
Waiting for someone to identify the spider in similar depth
Either regal or bold jumping spider. The green areas are the fangs.
Probably some kind of Phidippus but don't take my word for it
Thinking it's a bold jumping spider based on this: extension.psu.edu/bold-jumper-... Jamelle, note under "medical importance" for this spider, lol...careful taking their photo, they are temperamental models. extension.psu.edu/bronze-jumper
Thank for the settings! That's a gorgeous shot :-)
what is RW2?
it's the raw file format
ALIENS!
dang I've been following your photography since you started with film and the x100 (part of why I shoot with an xt4, sortof). How does the panasonic compare to it's olympus counterpart? You've owned both right?
absolutely gorgeous colors here, btw.
How do you like the G9? I was thinking of getting a G9ii at some point and living my best MFT life
it is a terrific camera!
Thanks for that.
I have a similar camera, but dissimilar photographic skills, appreciate the details!
Did you go back in to grab the camera or do you just always carry it?
went back in to grab the camera.
Amazing photo! Those Leica MFT lenses are outstanding. The 42.5mm 1.2 is one of my all time favs.
i owned one before i sold it because i was pairing down my MFT gear to essentials
Nice stuff, I just upgraded to an OM-3 and am really loving it. Will be fun to grab a macro at some point to play around with.
ooooh love a G9
ty!
I have the same macro lens. Use it mainly for taking pictures of flowers.
Ok, no.🥺
Good grief!
Precious! I love jumpers! This one looks like a Phiddipus species (bold or regal jumping spider) ❤️
You should submit this to Tim Robinson's Spider League
Same but on my deck.
We have a jumping spider. It is easily 5 months past life expectancy. They are really cute, but they hide a lot. Mine is massive. Big as my thumbnail
Evil post. 😂😂😂
That’s a very cool shot. Love jumping spiders.
Bro…
Jumping spider. My fav because they’re small & not afraid. The only type of spider that actively hunts prey without using a web.
My wife snapped a picture of this hard-working mama wolf spider and her babies in our driveway the other night.
jamelle hate to embarrass you but that's a muppet
Cute little fuzzy guy! Nice photo - made my day.
Nice pic… love spiders they eat nasty bugs. I generally name them if they hang around long even. Yours looks like a “Bruce” to me.
If they are in the house, as wolf spiders often are, we relocate them to the outdoors.
I have both inside and outside spiders. I do prefer the webs to be outside.
Of course. Same. The Wolf spiders are lost when they’re inside the house, because they live in burrows.
Good to know
My daughter and I watched two jumping spiders confront each other on our patio table one day. They saw each other and each got into a fighting crouch and then one raised up his front legs and the other one ran away. It was fuckin badass he was a scary lil guy.
Jumping spiders are so cute.
cutie!! I love jumping spiders! 😍
Goldspood 💛

He’s so cute!
So cute! These little guys are my favorite.
spider is LURKING watch your six
gorgeous little thing.
Buddy!
I need a trigger warning 😭😭
The black hairs on top & lighting/shadow look like it's wearing a hair piece. Fantastic shot
What a cutie!
i got an even closer photo but it is ever so slightly less sharp and the framing isn't as good. like, this one — no cropping required!
Ooo she’s real cute! 🥰
So cute! 😍
Jumping spiders are so cute 😭 one around my house had babies and they were all over my morning glory plant one morning. They were SO tiny and cute.
It looks like a jumping spider in the genus Phidippus to me.
These are such interesting spiders! Sadly I’ve never seen one in person. Science fiction author Adrian Tchaikovsky wrote an incredible novel in which jumping spiders like these are major characters in Children of Time.
Is that a Michigan tarantula
