The tariffs led every European shipping to temporarily suspend service to the US altogether until they can get systems up to coordinate tax collection on a huge volume of packages. In the meantime, that leaves no shipping options except a transatlantic courier service.

Actually I just ran into the same thing myself. I was shopping for little 3D printed bits on Etsy and mistook DE in the seller’s name as Delaware instead of Germany and was looking at $182 shipping on $6 of product.
