because they are all boys' clubs and women get harassed out of playing in the open bracket. you know, something that famously never happens to trans women.

I am really sorry this is being done to you
thank you. i never thought we'd be back here so swiftly after how far we'd come over 50 years.
Basically this. Its noted in Chess, in particular, that men outnumber women vastly. They've 'studied' it and can't figure out why. And its probably because male chess players tend to be assholes to women. So, they made a women's division to avoid having to make men have decent sportsmanship.
Wasn't that one of the plot points in The Queen's Gambit on Netflix? She didn't just have to compete against men, but she had to fight to get a spot competing against them?
I never saw it but it makes sense.
and how are trans women at fault, considering trans women are women?
I never implied we were. Not sure where you got that. Just talking about how some men sow division, usually because of their ego.
to my knowledge, I think the problem is that with the division, the scores can’t be compared, because women only compete against women and viceversa. So we can’t move someone from one to the other because there’s no way to calculate what the new score would be
apparently women don't compete against only women considering the exclusion of (trans) women
oh no, I agree with you 💯 I’m just repeating what was explained to me by someone that’s has a bit more insight on chess: that besides the bigotry, it might be grounds to stop dividing it by gender and they’ll find every excuse to not play against women
