It's infuriating how much more honest and direct people abroad can be about the blindingly obvious effects of Brexit, while UK commentators continue to tap-dance around the issues.

One suspects UK commentators all drink from the same poisoned well as Farage&Co... their grip on reality, and their concept of possibility is terrifyingly narrow. I have a grant application in to run a Thrutopian Convergence with the aim of shifting their boundaries, but it might not work...

And - to coin a phrase - it’s not exactly rocket science. What the f*** did people think would happen?

I'm in Brittany. Everyone local thinks Brexit was the most effective piece of self harm we could have done.

I think that qualifies as candour, 100% candour Refreshing Starmer seems to have caught the bug at last with his unambiguous statement on Tory and Reform parties today

To be fair, he was in the thick of it and I am sure he was making this point throughout. He will be Canadian PM because he has such experience and wisdom.

Carney was clearly Remain. And still had the grace to try and clear up the actual shite spread right across the British economy afterwards. It was a result we had a backbone in the BoE at the time.

They danced with the devil for easy money. Populism is the lazy journalistic approach these days and they needed to keep paying the mortgage, towing the line then, today and tomorrow suits. Too much pride, can't possibly be accountable for the fall!
