Generally speaking I have an issue with critics that review stuff in styles and genres they hate. Especially in theatre. Fiona Mountford starting reviews with "I find Chekhov boring" or "I don't like Ibsen" or "I don't get Shepard". Then why review them? She has only ever given Mamma Mia five stars.

fr Good, useful criticism requires massive context, ie a serious background in the medium + genre/movement etc. I watched literally 1000s of films from diff eras and nations before I felt I earned it. Otherwise, it's just opinion, which...
