People actually versed in British history would know that the union flag can only be flown under very, very specific circumstances on very specific buildings and to do otherwise is incredibly disrespectful!

I know Lichfield really well, went to school there...It's a tiny insular city, predominantly white, middle class, pretending not to be a distant suburb of Birmingham and absolutely chokka with nimbys.
I was born there, the flags are concentrated in certain areas. None where near my old family home
It's such a long time really since I visited Lichfield regularly though my parents lived on the outskirts for over 40yrs and I did used to go into the city centre with mum quite a bit.
The flags are on lampposts around various islands and down a third of Eastern Avenue

I attended the Friary in the centre of Lichfield for 2 years, I then moved up to Friary Grange for the next 3 years. I remember cross country running around Elmhurst
