Glad to see this, but I wish they had filed the lawsuit not just against the agencies but also against the individual agents involved in this incident. These agents have to be held personally responsible and liable for their actions.

This is the way to do it. Make it expensive to be assholes. Sue ICE, Donald Trump, Stephen Miller, Tom Homan, and the chud who pointed the gun at the kid. $1M each. It’s not an outrageous amount any judge will find reasonable. It’s chump change for Trump but the chud will probably lose his house.
I’ll say it again. A good reason to tax the rich is to help pay for the billions of dollars of damages the U.S. Government is going to owe people stemming from successful lawsuits against ICE.
Oregon became a sanctuary state because of large punitive settlements triggered by racial profiling in the 1980’s. We need to tack on punitive costs to send a real message that this has got to stop.
She should sue for much, much more.

I hope a lot of people find the resolve to sue. Until we bankrupt cities and towns and states by suing over the illegal use of force by their officers we will never get police reform. The violent nature of police officers MUST be addressed and changed.
