We used to do make plays out of the books we read in grade school. It taught us how to write and organize while learning to read. Do grade school classes still do that?

Yes, students still do this. I’ve seen simple read throughs, ‘musical’ interpretations, podcast-like commentary. It’s all quite magical to watch.
