Amtrak never had any observation cars quite this impressive but they were still running some pretty nice ones up until the early 80s. None of them survived the HEP conversion program.

Yes I’m aware. These are permanently historic now. VIA actually asked if their replacement LD order could include these and no manufacturers were willing to make them. DOMES yes, thank goodness… but not these. :(
