They already were!
They’ve been doing it for decades. #taxthechurches
The American Evangelical church is killing Christianity. This is frightening.
Tax the churches.
Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar’s, and render unto God that which is God’s. Or something like that…
Onward Christian Nationalists!
Okay, fair game but that means the true Christians (especially the Catholic Priests) need to also speak up from the pulpit!
The founders wisely held against intertwining religion and politics. For almost two centuries, religious leaders sought that separation to prevent sullying religion. The GOP embraced evangelicals in the 1970s to the ultimate detriment of both groups.

You hope? Clearly, you haven't attended an evangelical church service in the last 10 years.
30 years I'd say.
Hahaha. Check out the LDS "church". They literally preach endorsements. Mike Lee, anybody?
That horse left the barn a long time ago.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?! Have they not seen Europe or history?
It's worth reading the article first. But sadly, the kinds of people he's talking to in the article aren't the ones who need to hear it.
Christ
They will. They will tell their parishioners exactly who to vote for. Good or bad.
tax those political endorsement organizations
All should pay taxes, then this wouldn't be an issue. Not just for this, all should pay taxes.
The political problem is that Christian Nationalism congregations will jump at this while traditional mainline churches will carefully avoid disruption in the congregation. Advantage Christian Nationalism.
Tax them all.
Tax all churches. Tax the fuck out of them. Tax them into nothing. They're cancer. Every "preacher" is a tumor (when he's not molesting kids).
But pastors have been endorsing candidates. Particularly the evangelical pastors. Tim Alberta explores this very thing in The Kingdom, The Power, and the Glory. This has been in the works for decades...somehow culminating in God's chosen, Donald Trump.
They should also be paying taxes.
Yes!
They have been doing just that for decades.
Oh; my hair-sprayed congressman Mark Harris (NC), who happens to be a Baptist minister, can’t wait to pass the loot for Trump.
They’ve been right wing political machines for decades, they’ve just tried to disguise it under religion and culture wars they made up—that have little to nothing to do with the teachings attributed to Christ.
