Amongst my peers, the ones who grew up with strict responsibilities for chores have a much better work ethic and better focus in adulthood. Seems like a win-win for parenting.

I had daily chores I had to do. It didn't make me a better problem solver or create confidence. Quite the opposite. I didn't make my sons do very much and all are competent adults.
