Or "AI" could simply be a suicide machine for children w/ no consequences for the oligarchs who profit. The ONLY way to think about "AI" is strict controls, strict liability for the company owners & removal of all profit.

AI *cannot* be used in this way. That's wishful thinking fueled by AI hype. It is the largest boondoggle in the history of humankind. It should be mentioned that James Manyika leads efforts across Google and Alphabet that have to do with new tech, so he's just another cheerleader for AI.
