I used to be Catholic. Faith is a choice, not an immutable fact. Most religions, including Catholicism, try to attract converts, so they acknowledge that faith can change, too. I'm no more still a Catholic than you are still a kindergartner for having attended. We both grew and changed outfits.

I want to add, since the golden rule still sticks from both my Cathollic and kindergarten days, that I feel no hostility toward you. From your bio, looks like we have more in common than not. I just disagree, respectfully, about the "once a Catholic, always a Catholic" thing. 😁

The motions of "years and years of Catholic school, theology lessons and church attendance", like you mentioned? Yeah, and I'll throw in years as an altar server, youth group participation, and even some high school seminary. I believed. Don't anymore. Not ashamed of either status. Faith can change.
