Was just thinking that. When VO blames Evers for letting hospitals HE defunded close, centrist media will take “can't you both share some blame?” middle ground while Fox blames Evers solely. Worse yet, disengaged centrist voters will then fall somewhere in between those, blaming Evers more than VO.

My guess is that Wisconsin doesn’t have the money to bail them out without raising state taxes.

We have a surplus atm. Evers has tried to fund hospitals recently and been brickwalled by the state Congress. They hold the funds and blame him when things fail.

Thanks for the background info. Good for Evers for trying to do the right thing for the rural hospitals. I hope those rural hospitals also make clear that Evers is their champion¬ the GOP federal & state legislators. Evers should also spend a repetitive amount of time pointing that out too.

Yes, I think this is exactly right, i.e. what/why Orden is doing this: so he can say it’s the (Democratic) governor’s fault.
