This is going overboard now. Obvious using abject tragedy as political campaigning. Frey is just that cynical to use tragedy to elevate his campaign, he has history doing this. they are so opportunist they couldn't resist overindulging in this. just gross www.startribune.com/jacob-frey-a...

I had the exact same reaction to this Strib story. Strib is going to ride this one hard to get Frey elected. An NYC friend saw Frey on the nationa;l news and told me, "Your mayor is amazing and inspiring." She was surprised that I didn't think so. Sigh.

it is theater for the least informed. His campaign is counting on that ignorance to win. It is the sleaziest. Precisely how he campaigned on “banning no-knocks” in 21 as police reform, turns out he did none of the actual work to ban no knocks and MPD killed Amir Locke as a result. All show

objectively, in Frey's whole 8 yrs, has his leadership in the area of gun violence or gun control been even mid or significant? Now trying to portray him as a leading voice? His response to the 11yr old Black child gun death was to launch a PR campaign for gun owners thru MPD

There were so many community members, community leaders, community voices at this meeting in North Minneapolis Folwell park in July, folks who have been this voice for a long time, Princess Titus, Toshira Garroway. - Jacob Frey was not there. www.mprnews.org/episode/2025...

Frey shows up and exhibits leadership for victims when they are SW Minneapolitans. It's part of how he got elected in 2017 after the police killing of Justine Damond, and it's going to play in to his reelection campaign now.

He said the right things on Wednesday, getting out in front of the Thoughts and Prayers brigade, and the coming anti-trans attacks. But this leadership has been missing from the vast majority of his terms in office, most disastrously in 2020.

If McAfee had gone after Palmisano, Vetaw, or Rainville, he'd have been all over it.
